ABOUT ME
I am a 1993 graduate of Atlanta School of Massage Therapy and love being a Massage Therapist. I started my first practice in the back of a hair salon the day I graduated school. Now that was a sweet sun room of an office! Through the years, the locations have changed, yet my commitment to providing a unique style of massage has not.
My main style of massage is Therapeutic Deep Tissue, with many other modalities mixed in–from Swedish to Myofascial Technique and SMRT (Spontaneous Muscle Release Technique). And...
Exciting news! – I just passed my certification to practice a specialized type of massage: The Vodder Method of Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD). I can now help support patients with lymphedema by redirecting fluid around damaged or blocked areas after surgeries. It’s also great when used with onconcology treatments. It aids in post-surgical recovery, edema reduction, pain control, infection prevention, hematoma, reduction/resolution. It also helps with constipation relief, stress reduction, and improved sleep.
I use a Comfort Craft massage table. Unlike a normal massage table, this table can bend and has an adjustable height feature, allowing a more comfortable and pleasant massage.
I want to help each client decrease their physical pain and improve their quality of life with decreased stress levels and increased freedom of movement that hands-on bodywork provides.

THERAPEUTIC DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
SWEDISH MASSAGE
Therapeutic Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. There is no correlation between heavy pressure and deep tissue. With the right application of light pressure, we can achieve deep tissue work. Therapeutic Deep Tissue Massage does not have to hurt to be effective.
Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-range and include: relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
PREGNANCY MASSAGE
SMRT MASSAGE
Pregnancy Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman’s body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain, due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.
SMRT (Spontaneous Muscle Release Technique) is a positional release modality that interrupts pain signals in the body, quickly and painlessly resolves trigger points, has an incredibly calming effect on the nervous system and highly stimulates the lymphatic system. It goes beyond traditional massage and not only addresses the muscles, but the ligaments, tendons and fascia. The results of SMRT have long term benefits because the pain loops are disrupted, the parasympathetic nervous system is calmed and homeostasis is returned in the treated area.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a very gentle, slow, and rhythmic face and body treatment that focuses directly on improving the function of the lymphatic system. By following the pathways of the many lymphatic vessels located in the body, the nervous system is calmed and pain is relieved.
MEDICAL MLD can help support patients with lymphedema by redirecting fluid around damaged or blocked areas commonly associated with medical treatments such as:
• PRE AND POST-SURGERY: Elective and medically necessary surgeries and procedures (i.e facelifts, liposuction, breast reduction, or augmentation, and joint replacements. (NO incisional drainage or “squeeze therapy”)
• ONCOLOGY TREATMENT: Aids in post-surgical recovery, edema reduction, pain control, infection prevention (particularly local infections), hematoma, reduction/resolution, constipation relief, stress reduction, and improved sleep.
MLD can also help with:
• AUTOIMMUNE DISORDERS: Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Scleroderma, Dercum’s Disease, Lipedema
• NEUROLOGICAL: Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), Autism
• OTHER DISORDERS: Migraines, Lyme Disease, sinus problems, tinnitus, pregnancy edema, diabetes, and inflammation
MEDICAL REFERRALS FOR MLD TREATMENTS:
I am fully certified to provide MLD. If referred by a medical doctor to a lymphedema clinic and you have progressed to the maintenance treatment phase, with an established treatment plan, services are appropriate and recommended. Or, if you have untreated or unresolved swelling for more than three months, contact your physician for an evaluation and perhaps a referral for MLD treatment services. I am here to help you!
